About us

Squad Apps was founded in 2022 by Maarten Bongers and Martijn van Kuijk, two experienced Mendix consultants with more than 20 years of experience. At that time, they helped numerous organizations, from scale-ups to enterprises, to digitize faster and smarter. In doing so, they didn't just see what Mendix makes technologically possible, but especially how decisive the quality and cooperation of consultants are for the success of digital transformations.

During their career, they noticed that consultants were often placed individually with customers, without structural knowledge sharing and/or team support. That could be better and that needs to be better. Squad Apps was born from that conviction.

Our name says everything about how we work. We work in squads: teams of four to five experienced Mendix consultants with various specialties. As a result, our customers not only benefit from one consultant, but from the combined expertise of an entire team: from (low-code) development to architecture and from security to design. At the same time, we ensure that our consultants can always fall back on their squad. Collaboration and sharing knowledge are key.

Our technical quality is also recognised within the Mendix community. Squad Apps has taken the podium several times at the Mendix Capture the Flag event: an international security hacking competition with more than 2,000 participants. This underlines our focus on safe and robust solutions.

In 2026, we further strengthened our proposition by entering into a partnership with Lobster. In doing so, we combine the best of both worlds: no-code data integration and low-code process digitization. Through this combination, we not only help organizations build applications, but also seamlessly connect systems, data and processes. This is how we accelerate digital transformation across the entire chain.

In a short time, Squad Apps has grown into a leading organization. We work for customers like dsm-firmenich, Siemens, NVIDIA, ASML, Adelante Care Group, Enexis, Banijay, Rabobank and Jan de Rijk. Get to know Squad Apps and learn how our squad concept can benefit your organization. Low-code is fantastic, but there might also be some pitfalls you should take into account. Together we’ll make a blueprint of the project. We usually use a Design Sprint for this. We’ll find answers to questions like: for what challenge are we finding a solution? What improvement do you want to realize? What are the conditions? When is the project a success? Having answers to these kinds of questions, we’ll know for sure the application will actually benefit your organization.

We like to work and like to show what we are capable of. We use the Scrum method, so you’ll receive multiple working prototypes. You can give feedback on those and we’ll evaluate the process and progress together. Not technically, but visually and in a way that everyone understands what we’re talking about. By working this way, you know for sure the solution fits your expectations.
